NDDC REITERATES READINESS TO SUPPORT ARMY IN A BID TO ENHANCE DEVELOPMENT OF NIGER DELTA REGION

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says the importance of Security in the development of Niger Delta Region cannot be overlooked.
Dr. Ogbuku who made this known while playing host to 29 Battalion Nigerian Army Bori Camp Port Harcourt at NDDC Headquarters Marine Base Rivers State, noted that Operation Delta Safe has been instrumental in maintaining peace in the region especially during the crisis period.

The Managing Director maintained that NDDC is ready to provide infrastructural amenities and automobile logistics as the need arises to assist the army in carrying out their assignments in the region.
He acknowledged that the commission needs the military to provide adequate security for smooth operations in the Niger Delta region.
Earlier on, the Commanding Officer, 29 Battalion Nigerian Army, Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, Lieutenant Colonel Ishaya Manga told the host they were at the commission to straighten their cooperation, as soldiers from the battalion have been providing security for the commission.
Lieutenant Colonel Manga who recently assumed office as the Commanding Officer 29 Battalion gave assurance that personnel deployed to the NDDC would not relent on their duties.
Apart from the Managing Director, other Management staff were present including the Executive Director Finance and Administration, retired Major General Charles Airhiavbere.
