NDDC MD URGES FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS SEEKING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMISSION NOT TO BE PROFIT DRIVEN

Financial institutions seeking partnership with Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC have been enjoined to focus more on making positive impact on the people of Niger Delta region as against profit making.

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who made the call while addressing the teams from IBTC and E-transact at NDDC headquarters, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, told them that the NDDC is an Interventionist Agency which has a mandate to develop the region.

Dr. Ogbuku informed the delegation that the micro finance bank of the Agency provides a veritable platform for partnership and investment adding that there are plans to make it a regional micro finance bank.

According to MD, NDDC would require partnership in Housing, contract financing and staff cooperative.

On Digital support by E-transact, the Managing Director charged them to be sure of their digital capability as their services would be required to enlarge PROJECT HOPE database platform.

 In her presentation, the leader of the delegation from IBTC, Hauwa Bellow told the Managing director that their aim was to form a strong alliance with the commission especially on staff cooperative financing and micro finance support.

She promised that the bank would come up with some customized services that would be of benefit to NDDC.

In his presentation, Mr. Emmanuel Ogungi of E-transact who said they have capacity to position NDDC Microfinance Bank to be accessible to the people, gave assurance of the security of their digital services to prevent poaching by fraudsters.

Apart from the Managing Director, other management staff were present at the occasion including, Executive Director Finance and Administration, Retired 

Major General Charkes Airhiavbere and Executive Director Projects, Charles Ogunmola.
