CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF ASSURES ON ADEQUATE SECURITY DURING ELECTION, INAUGURATES PROJECTS IN 6 DIVISION HEADQUATERS

Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has given assurance of adequate security during the forthcoming elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States.
General Musa who gave the assurance while inaugurating some projects in Port Harcourt barracks, executed by General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Division Nigerian Army, Port harcourt, Major General Jamal
Abdussalam, noted that the projects would facilitate operations and curtail accommodation issues in the barracks.
General Musa who insisted the the Armed Forces believe in democracy, allayed fear of coup de-etat in the country.
He warned those planning to cause mayhem during the election to desist or face the consequences.
On crude oil theft, the Chief of Defence Staff who told Newsmen that the President has approved the acquisition of platforms, added that technology would be leveraged on, in the fight against piracy, pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunking.
The Defence Chief who was conducted round the projects by the GOC 6 Division, enjoined officers and men to exhibit core professional conducts in their assignments.
Some of the projects inaugurated include, 46 engineer brigade counter improvised explosive device squadron complex, 29 battalion newly constructed magazine, 26 support engineer regiment newly constructed corporal and bellow quarters, Unveiling of renamed streets in Port Harcourt barracks, Tree planting to enhance 6 Division bio-diversity efforts, among others.
