6 DIV GARISON NIGERIAN ARMY DISTRIBUTES PALIATIVES, ASSURES ON ADEQUATE SECURITY IN YULETIDE

Commander 6 Division Garison Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, Brigadier General Edet Effiong says the Army is committed to ensure peaceful environment during the yuletide season.
Brigadier General Effiong who made this known while presenting Educational materials and palliatives to children in orphanage home, students and Widows in Port Harcourt, Okrika and Oyigbo communities told them that discipline is an indispensable factor to achieving greatness.
Brigadier General Effiong who explained that the move is part of Exercise Still Waters Three meant to ensure adequate security during the yuletide season advised them to avoid drugs, cultism and armed robbery.
While emphasizing the importance of skills, he encouraged them to aspire to greater heights despite the prevailing circumstances.
Brigadier General Edet who is also the Commander, Sector Three, Operation Delta Safe, OPDS, appreciated the General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam for support.
Reacting to the gesture, the Amayanabo of Okrika, His Royal Majesty King Emmanuel Tamuno represented by Chief Imama Koko acknowledged that the presence of the army helped to curtail crimes in the community.
Similarly, two students, Blessing Emmanuel and Jane Daka appreciated Nigerian Army, insisting that the move would spur them to high heights.
In the same vein, the Vice Chairman Oyigbo Local Government Area, Mrs. Juliana Okoye while applauding Nigerian Army, described the donations as unprecedented.
Items donated include, educational materials, noodles, bags of rice and other food items.
