NIGERIAN URGED TO ENGAGE IN NON OIL – CENTRED BUSINESSES

Nigerians have been urged to venture into businesses that would stir the Nation’s economy from oil – centred .

This was the submission at a one day workshop in Port Harcourt by the Institute of Export Operations and Management, Nigeria on ‘Minimizing Business losses for Maximum Export Gain.

Speaking at the Workshop, the Regional Coordinator, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, NEPC, South South Zone, Mr. Ganiyu Gbolagade, represented by Assistant Director in NEPC, Mrs. Sylvia Adeneye, said the economy of the Nation will experience a positive turn around, with the non oil export business.

Executive Secretary, Institute of Export Operations and Management, Mr. Ofon Udofia, while inspecting some of the export materials at the workshop ground, urged exporters to share their challenges, to minimize losses in the business.

In their presentation, Mrs. Mandu Inana and Mrs. Mercy Odibe, called for consistence and strict compliance with International best practices to achieve a viable business in the non oil export sector.

Some participants who spoke with Radio Nigeria, said the non oil export business has aided in the increase of food security in the Country.

The workshop brought together, stakeholders in the export business, including the National Shippers Association of Nigeria.
