NDDC TO ACCELERATE PROJECT COMPLETION IN COMMUNITIES IN AKWA IBOM STATE

Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC has restated commitment towards the completion of abandoned and ongoing projects in communities across Niger Delta region. 

The Executive Director Projects, NDDC, Mr. Victor Antai who made this known while on inspection of Okossi Mbokpu-Eyokan Road in Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, maintained that the present management was  determined to execute signature projects across the region. 

Mr. Antai who explained that the road would connect three Local Government Areas, described the move as part of the gains of the just concluded retreat, with the resolve to facilitate project delivery. 

The EDP who also inspected eighteen kilometre Oyoku Assang – Eweme – Okiuso Road, in Mbo Local Government Area, said that there would be revaluation of the project cost before contractor returns to site since the project has been stalled for some time.

Similarly, the representative of Akwa Ibom State on NDDC board, Apostle  Abasiedikang Nkono pleaded with the youths to provide enabling environment for the successful completion of the project, while a community leader, Mr. Benedict Ukpon noted that  the community has made several unsuccessful efforts in the past to have the project completed. 

Mr. Ukpon appreciated NDDC for coming to their rescue. 

The project is about twenty-one kilometres and would connect over twenty communities in the locality.
