Group warns of imminent protests by ex-artisanal refiners across Niger Delta

The Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre, YEAC-Nigeria, has raised alarm over unplanned mass protest by ex-artisanal refiners across the Niger Delta, as according to the group,President Bola Tinubu remains silent to their request.
In an interview granted by its Executive Director, Mr. Fyneface Dumnamene, the group said it shared the intelligence with Mr. President to address the issues with a view to averting the impending mass demonstrations that could complicate the unrest in parts of the country over the high cost of living.
The group said that despite being informed to nip the looming protest in the bud by addressing the demands within the shortest possible time, nothing has been done warning that thousands of people from the entire value chain of artisanal refineries may storm the streets simultaneously across the Delta.
