RESIDENTS OF OTU GEREMI COMMUNITY IN UGHELI APPLAUD NDDC’S FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says the commission is embarking on healthcare insurance scheme to enable residents of the region access free medical services.
Dr. Ogbuku who made this known while declaring open NDDC free Medical Outreach at Otu Geremi Community, Ugheli South Local Government Area Delta State, said that apart from infrastructural development, NDDC was concerned about the health status of the people.
Represented by the Director Education, Health and Social Services, Dr. George Uzonwanne, the Managing Director expressed joy that thousands of the residents have benefited from the programme.
Reacting to the development, the First Vice Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, King Pere Kalanama was full of praise for NDDC for bringing the free medical outreach to his kingdom.
Similarly, one of the beneficiaries of fibroid surgery, Kate Johnson described the outreach as a life saving mission.
While appreciating NDDC for the gesture, the respondents pleaded that the duration be extended to accommodate more beneficiaries.
There were also eye surgeries, distribution of eye glasses, dental care among others.
