NIGERIAN ARMY INAUGURATES THREE PROJECTS IN BUGUMA COMMUNITY, RIVERS STATE

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya says Nigerian Army will continue to ensure general security in parts of the country.
Lieutenant General Yahaya who made this known during the inauguration and handing over of three projects, Renovated Nursery and Primary School, Health Centre and Skills Acquisition Centre in Buguma, Asari Toru Local Government Area Rivers State, described them as part of Civil Military relationship to bridge the gap between the Army and host communities.
Numbere and Abdulsalam
Represented by the General Officer Commanding GOC, Six Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, and Land Component Commander Joint Task Force (South South) Operation Delta Safe, Major General Jamal Abdulssalam, the Chief of Army Staff maintained that the projects would solve infrastructure challenge in the community.
Similarly, the Chief Executive Officer, Army Post Housing Limited Major General Tonye Numbere explained that the skill acquisition centre is to equip the youths with skills that will take them out of crimes, the hospital will assist the elderly to take care of their health needs, while the school is to provide a conducive learning environment for students.
Major General Numbere who hails from Buguma called on other well-meaning indigenes of the old city to contribute to the development of the community.
Earlier on, the Chairman, Asari Toru Local Government Area, Mr. Onengiyeofori George who noted that Army has provided security in the community and the nation at large, expressed delight over the gesture.
On his part, Vice Chairman Buguma Internal Affairs, Elder Lolo Ibenenye said the move by Nigerian Army will save many lives in the Locality.
High point of the event was donation of medical equipment to the health centre .
