EID- EL KABIR: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1650 PERSONNEL ACROSS RIVERS STATE

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Rivers State Command, Basil Igwebueze has assured the people of Rivers State a serene and hitch-free Sallah celebration.

Briefing the officers and men at the Command Headquarters of the NSCDC in Rivers State, Commandant Basil said based on the directive of the Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR, the Command has deployed about 1650 personnel from various Departments and Units to provide adequate security before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He hinted that the Command will not leave any stone unturned and just as he had said during his inaugural address, the deployment of officers and men would be Intelligence driven. The Rivers State Commandant directed all Area Commanders to supervise the Divisional Officers under their Senatorial Districts in order to forestall all criminal activities and arrest anyone who constitutes threat to the overall security of the state .

” Our deployment for the Sallah celebration will cover the 23 Local Government Area in the State therefore, all Divisional Officers are to ensure effective security beef up of the identified flash points; Undercover personnel have also been deployed to specific areas to gather Intelligence while timely reports must be forwarded to the appropriate quarters for swift response and action”.

” You are fully aware of the environment and your Area of Responsibility (AOR), the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Antivandal Squad, Intelligence Unit, General duty and Operations are to ensure that Markets, Shopping Malls, Motor Parks, Recreation Centers, Eid Prayer grounds, Churches and other public places are adequately secured before , during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

” Let me assure the good people of Rivers State that the Command will not relent in the discharge of her statutory mandate to Safeguard all Critical National Assets and Infrastructures in the State, we are also soliciting for prompt information most especially when strange moves are discovered. Commandant Basil in his address wishes all the Muslim faithfuls a blissful and prosperous Sallah celebration, he further relay that the Command will work in collaborations with the all Sister Security Agencies to combat all forms of Crime and Criminalities throughout the festive season.
