NDDC TO COLLABORATE WITH OIL AND GAS FREE ZONE TO ESTABLISH INDUSTRIAL PARKS IN NIGER DELTA REGION

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says Niger Delta region is in dire Need of infrastructural, social and economic development.
Dr. Ogbuku who made this known while receiving a team from Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority of Nigeria at NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt Rivers State, stressed the need to work with the authority to establish industrial parks in the region.
The Chief Executive Officer who stated that a technical committee would be set up between NDDC and Oil and Gas free zone to promote industrial parks, expressed confidence that the authority would provide a veritable platform for international partners.
The Managing Director emphasized the importance of Data base which would make it easy to select people of the region for training and empowerment.
Earlier on, Managing Director Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority of Nigeria, Senator Tijani yahaya explained that there is need to develop industrial activities by the establishment of industrial hubs in the region to boost industrial growth.
According to him, the platform the free zone provides for companies would translate to training and employment opportunities for the youths of the region.
The Managing Director insisted that industrial revolution would eliminate youth restiveness in Niger Delta region as majority of the youths would be meaningfully engaged
Senator Yahaya emphasized collaboration with NDDC to drive industry growth in Niger Delta region.
He commended president Ahmed Tinubu for the reappointment of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the MD of NDDC, describing it as deserving.
