RIVERS STATE GORVERNOR SEEKS COLLABORATION AGAINST POLITICAL CRISES IN THE STATE

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has called on the people of the State to join him in ensuring that the State does not suffer unnecessary setbacks due to anyone’s political interest.

Governor Fubara made the call at an Awards/Dinner towards  the close of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ; Rivers State week.

The Governor who was represented by the COMMISSIONER for INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION, Mr. Joseph Johnson,  described  Governor  Fubara’s Administration as media friendly, despite the political hurdle it is facing.

The State Commissioner for Information added that  the Governor may not be a loud  person, but a very strong person in standing for the rights and advancement of the State.

Earlier in his address, Head Corporate Communication, Indorama Petrochemical & Fertilizer Group, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha commended the Correspondents Chapel for their neutrality in the current political power tussle in Rivers state, urging the Journalists to keep up their neutral stand.

  Dr. Nkwocha also commended the Chapel for the choice of theme for this year’s program which is centralised on Entrepreneurs and investment in Rivers state.

Chairman of the Chapel, Mr. Ameachi Okonkwo while delivering his welcome address, urged the political leaders to focus on policies that will drive the economy of the State rather than beeker over personal interests.
