NDDC DEPLOYS TECHNOLOGY IN PROJECT MONITORING

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says henceforth the commission will adopt the use of technology in project supervision and monitoring. 

Dr. Ogbuku while responding to a question during an interactive with journalists at NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt Rivers State, explained that projects would be geotagged to make it easy for them to be monitored with just a click. 

The MD who maintained that management has a strong stance against substandard projects added that he would not approve payment of any contractor who fails to meet standard specifications. 

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the interventionist Agency, apart from deployment of technology in project supervision, he would be personally involved also in project monitoring. 

Concerning small ticket projects abandoned in parts of the region, Dr. Ogbuku stated that variation review was ongoing for the projects due increase in cost of materials. 

He gave assurance that as soon as the rate adjustments were concluded, contractors would be mobilized back to site to finish the projects. 

The NDDC boss expressed displeasure over abandonment of projects across the region and vowed to end the trend.
