NIGERIAN ARMY DECORATES FIVE PROMOTED BRIGADIER GENERALS IN PORT HARCOURT

Very Senior Army Officers have been urged to mentor other officers within their commands.
The General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam who gave the advice at the Division’s Headquarters in Port Harcourt Rivers State, during the decoration of senior officers promoted to the rank of Brigadier Generals, described it as a sign of confidence reposed on them by the hierarchy of Nigerian Army.
Major General Abdussalam while reminding the decorated Generals that one of their major mandates in Niger Delta region, is to work towards elimination of crude oil theft and other sundry crimes, insisted that the welfare of officers under their commands should not be neglected.
The GOC who is also the Land component Commander, South-South, operation Delta Safe, noted that the elevation is a call to higher responsibility.
He advised the beneficiaries to imbibe integrity as well as obey constituted authorities.
In their Goodwill messages, the Chief of Staff, Six Division, Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola and Commander 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Salisu Aliyu told the Generals that their new rank is an indication of huge trust by Nigerian Army which they should not undermine.
Responding, Brigadier General Chiedozie Amorha who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries expressed happiness that they were considered worthy of the promotion.
Brigadier General Amorha acknowledged the mentorship they received from the GOC in addition to several courses and expressed determination to make Nigerian Army proud.
The officers who were decorated following their promotion from Colonel to Brigadier General were, Brigadier General, Chiedozie Amorha, Brigadier General, Adamu Kitchener, Brigadier General, Kingsley Inyang,
Brigadier General, Effiong Nse and Brigadier, General Ibrahim Gambari
