BY GABRIEL OKECHUKWU, FRCN PORT HARCOURT

The Executive Director Projects, EDP, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Victor Antai says efforts would be made to revitalize deserted Rice Mill at Elele Alimini.

Mr. Antai who made this known during a tour of the facility at Elele Alimini Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, described as disheartening the inability of the production company to manage the mill.

According to him, the six-tonne per hour capacity rice mill has the ability to produce enough for Niger Delta region and other parts of the country.

He appreciated the fact that though the operating company left, majority of the equipment NDDC installed at the facility were still intact and functional.

The EDP who explained that the rice mill was established as part of industrialization strategies of the interventionist agency, expressed optimism that when in full capacity of production, it would create employment opportunities for youths.
