NDDC SET TO INAUGURATE INJECTION SUB-STATION IN EDO STATE

The one by fifteen mega volts cum thirty three by eleven kilovolts electricity injection power station built by Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, in Amufi-Ikpoba Community, Okha Local Government Area, Edo State is set for inauguration. 

The Executive Director Projects NDDC, sir Victor Antai who made this known during inspection of the facility described it as a testimony of the resolve of present administration to execute legacy projects across Niger Delta region.

Sir Antai who insisted  that NDDC was determined to improve the social and economic well-being of the region, asked residents to keep watch over projects cited in their localities to prevent vandalism. 

The EDP however commended the residents especially youths of the community for providing enabling environment for successful completion of the project and ensuring that the components were not vandalized 

Reacting to the development, the paramount ruler of Amufi, His Royal Highness,  Egharevba Iyaewuara who was appreciative of the gesture from NDDC, expressed confidence that steady power supply would boost economic activities in the locality and lift many out of poverty. 

He appealed to NDDC to hasten the inauguration for immediate benefit to  residents. 

On his part, an officer of the power distribution company expected to take over and manage the facility, Mr. Kingsley Atseyinku who said the injection sub-station has been tested and certified, told NDDC that it would enhance power supply in the area as well as assist small and medium size enterprises to grow. 

The contract for the injection sub-station which also has  a control room was awarded in twenty eleven, while it commenced in twenty fifteen.
