NDDC COMPLETES 132/33 KVA INJECTION POWER STATION IN OKITIPUPA, ONDO STATE

Communities in Ondo South Senatorial District have been assured of steady power supply, following the completion of one hundred and thirty two cum thirty three Kilovolt injection power station by Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
The Executive Director Projects NDDC, sir Victor Antai who gave the assurance during the inspection of the electricity power station in Okitikpukpa Local Government Area Ondo State, described it as part of the legacy projects of the commission.
Sir Antai who reiterated the determination of Dr. Ogbuku led administration to execute legacy and regional projects across Niger Delta region, expressed confidence that the project would boost economic activities in about six local government areas in the state.
The Executive Director Projects who said that contract has been awarded for installation of distribution line that would extend electricity to homes of residents, maintained that the facility would be inaugurated soon.
Giving details of the project, the contractor, Mr. Benson Obayelu explained that to achieve the feat, one hundred and forty five power towers were installed to take one hundred and thirty two kilovolts of power from the National grid and step it down at the power station with the aid of two transformers with forty and thirty mega volts capacity.
while appreciating NDDC for the power station, the Acting National Chairman of Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral producing Communities of Nigeria, TROMPTCON, Dr. Obafemi Ogbaro said they can’t wait to see light, having been in darkness for years.
The contract which was awarded in twenty twelve would end over a decade of darkness in about two thousand communities in the affected Local Government Areas.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director Projects made a stop over at NDDC permanent site in the State.
