PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU INAUGURATES IWUOCHANG ROAD, FLAGS OFF SECOND PHASE CONSTRUCTED BY NDDC IN AKWA IBOM STATE

In continuation of series of project inauguration, six point eight kilometers with six hundred meters dual carriage bridge Iko Atabrikang to Iwuochang road built by Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, has been inaugurated.
President Bola Tinubu who performed the inauguration cum flag off of second phase at Iwuochang, Ibuno Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, acknowledged that NDDC has aligned with the developmental vision of the present administration.
The residents were full of joy as they trouped out in their numbers to celebrate the inauguration of first phase of Iwuoachang Road and the flag of of the second phase.
The six point eight kilometers Iwuochang road with six hundred meters dual carriage bridge linked up about twenty communities formerly separated by qua Ibo River to upland part of Ibuno and the state in General.
Awarded in two thousand and three over twenty years ago at the cost of ten billion naira, the project would facilitate economic and social activities within the benefiting communities.
Performing the inauguration cum flag off of second phase of the project, President Bola Tinubu described road network as a catalyst to rural development.
Represented by Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President commended the board and Management of NDDC for being united and inaugurating projects within one year anniversary of his tenure.
He asked NDDC to empower the women and youths to make them self reliant.
Similarly, Minister of Niger Delta Development, Chief Abubakar Momoh who identified the road as a direct benefit to oil producing communities, gave assurance that abandoned projects in the region would be completed.
In his address, Managing Director NDDC DR. Samuel Ogbuku who said that management has taken a strong stance to take development to rural communities through project implications, told the people that the commission has robust programmes for the youths.
on his part, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, represented by Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Ayakenyen applauded NDDC for bringing to reality the real essence of its establishment to develop the rural areas.
The Governor described the project as a major breakthrough in the activities of the commission and pledged a closer corporation with the commission.
