Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged corps members to be dedicated in the course of their service delivery and nation building.

Governor Eno, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary for Youth Development, Mr Effiong Nichloas, made the call at the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Batch A Stream I orientation camp in Nsit Atai Local Government Area.

Governor Eno, assured the corps members of the state’s hospitality; the accommodating and peaceful nature of residents.

He assured the corps members that the State Government was committed to providing necessary support to ensure a productive and rewarding service year in the state.

The Governor charged the corps members to discharge their duties with diligence, dedication and serve as good ambassadors of the nation while contributing meaningfully to nation building.

Governor Eno encouraged them to utilise the skills they acquired during the orientation to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance.He emphasised the importance of the NYSC scheme in fostering national unity and development, urging the corps members to take their responsibilities seriously.

While congratulating them on the successful orientation course, Governor Eno urged them to accept their posting in good faith and make efforts to settle down quickly at their places of primary assignment.

He emphasised the importance of dedication, professionalism, and a spirit of service as they begin their primary assignments across the state.

The Governor urged the corps members to respect the customs and traditions of their host communities and engage with them in ways that foster mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation.The Governor while advising them to be security conscious at all times urged them not to travel at night and to make use of the security tips and numbers issued to them in camp.Over 1600 corps members participated in the 3 weeks orientation camp.
