Nigeria National Senior Men’s Football team Super Eagles has once again proven their worth by clinching the 2025 Unity Cup title in a thrilling 5-4 penalty shootout win against a resilient Jamaican side, following a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation time.

Skipper Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze registered their names on the scoresheet for the Super Eagles during the 90 minutes, displaying their attacking prowess at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.

The match also marked significant milestones with debuts handed to Werder Bremen full back Felix Agu, Getafe midfielder Chrisantus Uche, and Brentford’s Frederick Benjamin, signalling a look towards the future of Nigerian football.

While Jamaica faltered on one of their four attempts, the Super Eagles held their nerve, converting all five of their spot kicks, with the debutant Chrisantus Uche calmly slotting home the decisive penalty to secure the 2025 Unity Cup for the Eric Chelle led side.

Overall, while the Super Eagles showed improvement in transition, there’s still room for growth in their crossing and set-piece execution.

Elsewhere, the Black Stars of Ghana secured third place with a commanding 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago.
