ā€Žā€Žā€Ž”Many public institutions still operate in a culture of secrecy, while some are yet to establish the FOI unit. Some Websites are inactive even when the laws requires proactive disclosures of information by MDAs. Some agencies both at the federal and subnational levels outrightly refuse to respond to FOI request. Just recently, a Public institution demanded over one point two million Naira from us to access information that, by law, should be available on their website. Some outsource the response to Law firms outside the MDA. That is not only unacceptable – it’s a breach of the public right to know”.ā€Žā€Žā€Ž
