The Chattered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Cross River State Chapter have called on Citizens of the State to be part of logistics and transport system in a bid to manage safety on our highways.

The institute made the call during the inauguration ceremony of the Cross River State branch EXCO and mandatory professional Development programme.

In a keynote speech by the South East Vice Chairman of the institute, Dr Borlo, acknowledged the contributions of the international professional body that was formed in the United Kingdom for Practitioners in the transport and Logistics industry.

Dr Borlo noted that their services are everywhere even to the cemetery and there would be no relevance for Practitioners until they make themselves available to be trained in order to succeed in the sector.

Also, the sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Cross River State, Corps Commander Innocent Etuk, in a paper presentation with the theme” Safety on Nigerian Highways” explained that transport, Logistics and supply Chain are key enablers for the world economic development.

He advised motorists to obey speed limits, develop defensive driving techniques to prevent highway fatalities .

Highpoint of the event was the inauguration of Cross River State branch EXCO of the Chartered Institute of of Logistics and Transport Nigeria with Dr Mrs Aniefiok Iton as Chairman and inauguration of Patrons for Capacity Building.
