Platoon ten (10) has won the football and volleyball finals in the 2025 Batch A Stream II inter-platoon competition for Corps Members deployed to Rivers State.

In highly entertaining finals witnessed by a mammoth crowd, 10 platoon did a double over 9 platoon, as they defeated them 8 – 7 on penalties in football and 2 – 0 in volleyball.

In a remark, Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, who was live at the finals, showered encomiums on 10 platoon players for their “resilience and dogged spirit.”

Speaking further, he commended their determination to win despite being a player down in the 1st half.

He noted that their determination paid off as they withstood barrage of attacks from 9 platoon to drag the match to penalties where luck smiled on them.

Mr. Oleghe called on Corps Members to emulate “the value of determination,” as showcased by 10 platoon.In her own remark, a very happy 10 platoon officer, Mrs. Ebere Obasimo commended her players for their “die-hard spirit,” noting that any platoon officer who wants to achieve the best from Corps Members must be “intentional in standing with them through thick and thin.”

The double sees 10 platoon as the first platoon in the recent history of the orientation exercise in Nonwa-Gbam Tai to win football and volleyball finals.
