
The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has declared her commitment to ensuring that women, especially in rural communities have access to quality healthcare in line with the Maternal and Child Healthcare thematic area of the Golden Initiative For All, GIFA.
Lady Obareki made the declaration in Uyo, at a book Launch on “Women Health” and dedicated to the late wife of the State Governor, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
She noted that the eight thematic areas of GIFA reflect the unwavering commitment of Governor Umo Eno and the ARISE Agenda blueprint that consistently champions robust women empowerment and improves the lives of citizens across the state, from healthcare, to education and other components of development, in order to ensure a healthier society.

The Coordinator and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GIFA commended the author for her focus on preventive medicines, maternal health and wellness and for honouring the legacy of Pastor Patience Umo Eno in acknowledgment of her strength, compassion in championing causes that uplift women and children through her pet project, the Golden Initiative For All, GIFA.
“This is not just a literary achievement, it is a vital contribution to the conversation that has long been over due, the prioritization of women health in our communities, our systems and our hearts.
“I wish to commend the author for infusing the pages of this book with empathy, cultural insight and an unflinching clarity that forces us to confront the health realities of women.This book does not only highlight issues, it dissects them, contextualizes them and offers pathways towards understanding and action”, she added.
