
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has been conferred with the 2025 Outstanding Public Servant Award in recognition of his inclusive governance, community empowerment and sustainable development efforts, by the Queens of the Niger Delta.
The award was presented by the Queens representing the nine states of the Niger-Delta, accompanied by their Chaperones, at the Office of the First Lady Government House, Uyo.
Receiving the award on behalf of Governor Umo Eno, the First Lady Designate, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, conveyed the Governor’s appreciation and continuous commitment to implementing valuable initiatives that address the needs of the people of Akwa Ibom State.

It also reflects the strong partnership between government and civil society in building a peaceful, prosperous and united Niger-Delta and Nigeria.”
The Governor commended the Queens of the Niger-Delta for their unrelenting service in championing peace, unity, cultural preservation and youth empowerment in their community over the past decade.

Speaking on behalf of the Niger Delta Beauty Queens, Miss Bayelsa State, Elizabeth Alogbo stated that the group is set to kick start the first phase of a programme tagged; “Hope Alive”, designed to take 1000 Niger Delta Female Youths off the street, especially victims of sexual trafficking, with the aim of training them on various skills.
She explained, that according to statistics, the Niger Delta region accounts for about 70 percent of sexual trafficked returnees deported from various African and European countries.
While soliciting support to cover logistics for the 6-months motivational and moral boosting training which she said is in partnership with NAPTIP and other agencies, Miss Alagbo stressed that the skill acquisition centre, sited in Rivers State, will be fully operational by August 2025 with skilled trainers committed to youth development and social reintegration.
In addition to the Outstanding Public Servant Award, Pastor Umo Eno was also awarded the 2025 Governor of the Year for Youth Empowerment and the Grand Patron of the 2025 Queen of the Niger-Delta Programme tagged “Hope Alive”, by the beauty Queens who presented gifts for the Governor who they described as “a man of impeccable character”.
