
Corps Employers have been urged to take the welfare of Corps members seriously to ensure healthy working relationship.
The call was made at the National Youths’ Service Corps, NYSC, Rivers State Stakeholders’ forum for Corps-Employers in Port Harcourt.
In his address, the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu represented by the Deputy Director Operations, NYSC South South, Office 2, Port Harcourt, Mr. Chijioke Duru called for deliberate efforts by Corps Employers, in making the Assignment of Corps members worthwhile in their establishments.
Secretary to the Rivers State government and Chairman NYSC Governing Board in the State, Professor Ibibia Worika on behalf of the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas declared the workshop open.

He used the occasion to assure the NYSC management and Corps Members in Rivers State that the government will not rest on its oars until the operations of the Scheme “aligns with best global practices.
An Employer who rewarded a Corps Member that Served in his facility with a parcel of land, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere of Omega Power Ministries, appreciated the contributions of Corps members to National Development.
A Guest Lecturer, Professor Obodogbunam Agi-Otti, while presenting a Paper on Forstering Synergy and Team Work between Corps members and employers, said if Corps members are not well cared for, it may impact on the economy of the Nation.
Rivers State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Moses Oleghe also urged Corps employers to ensure that Corps members are not over burdened while appreciating the employers and dignitaries at the event.
His Royal Majesty, King Apostle Chihuzo Chinyere, the Garrison Commander 6 Division Nigerian Army, Brig Gen S Ahmed, the MD/CEO of SaveALife hospital, Dr. Richard Okoye, the Administrator of Phalga LGA, Dr (Barr) Samuel Kalagbor, amongst others; were recognised by the NYSC as outstanding corps-employers.
