
Christians have been enjoined to cultivate the habit of thanksgiving.
Bishop, Diocese of Ogbia, Anglican Church, Right Reverend Tamunotari Obaze, gave the admonition during fiftieth birthday thanksgiving of Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku in Ayakoro, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
speaking on the Topic , “There is a Reason to Thank God”, with a text taken from Psalms One hundred and three verse one hundred and five, Bishop OBAZE noted that it was necessary to appreciate God for life, for protection, for provision and safety.

The Minister acknowledged that God has been good to Dr. Ogbuku for making him the MD of NDDC, and keeping him alive to clock the golden age.
According to him, there were several battles that God fights for his people in secret, preventing all the arrows of the enemy to affect his children.
While commending the celebrant for taking out time to thank God, he advised the MD to continue in his bid to be a blessing to humanity.
“If we take statistics of those who were born fifty years ago the same day with him, are they all still living today, that alone is enough for us to gather here and thank God. It is not applicable to him alone, I’m also, you too. If God in his mercy keeps you all these years while your age mates are gone, it means God has special love for you and you owe God gratitude.”
On his part, the celebrant, MD of NDDC , Dr. Samuel Ogbuku appreciated God for blessings and favour unprecedented .

Dr. Ogbuku who expressed joy over the support he has enjoyed from his wife and family members as well as NDDC family, pledged to continue to be a good ambassador.
He thanked the Governor of Bayelsa State and other associates for believing in him and contributing to his vision.

” I may not stand here to recount all the successes and failures I have encountered in this life, but the most important thing is that I’m here to celebrate life. it would have been worse if we are here to celebrate death, but I’m alive to celebrate life. Looking at this mammoth crowd, I ask myself, why do these people love me this much. Some traveled all the way from Lagos and Abuja, all parts of the country, crossing the river down to this place, just to celebrate me.”
The NDDC boss noted that the appointment by the president gave him the opportunity to serve the Niger Delta and make positive impacts in the lives of the people.
In appreciation to God, Ogbuku family pledged to complete the church building which they have already started in Ayakoro Community.
