The Delta State Government has urged all eligible candidates for the 2026 Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 78th Regular Course Screening Test to arrive early at their designated examination centre for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled for Saturday, June 20.
The advice was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, who called on candidates and their parents to strictly adhere to all examination guidelines.
According to the statement, the NDA screening team, led by Lt. Col. M. Bako, has arrived in Asaba and completed preparations for the successful conduct of the exercise.
The screening will take place at the JAMB Professional Test Centre (PTC), JAMB State Office, near NTA Junction on Okpanam Road, Asaba, with accreditation and other preliminary processes expected to begin ahead of the official commencement time of 7:00 a.m.
The government said only candidates who scored at least 210 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for Engineering courses and a minimum of 180 for other faculties are eligible to participate.
Prospective candidates have also been reminded to come with all required documents, including their NDA Screening Test Admission Card printed from the NDA portal, Acknowledgement Form, JAMB Result Slip, and two postcard-sized photographs measuring 3.5 by 5 inches.
The Bureau Chief explained that the reverse side of each photograph must contain the candidate’s name, examination number, state of origin, examination centre, course of study, and signature in line with NDA requirements.
Oghenesivbe described admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a unique opportunity that combines quality university education with military leadership training, discipline, patriotism, and character development.
He noted that graduates of the Academy earn recognised academic degrees and are commissioned as officers in the Nigerian Armed Forces, opening doors to careers in military leadership, national security, engineering, sciences, administration, and other critical sectors.
He further stated that greater participation and success of Delta indigenes in the NDA admission process would enhance the state’s representation in the nation’s military leadership while creating opportunities for talented youths to contribute to national security and development.
The Director General also commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his administration’s continued investment in youth empowerment and human capital development, expressing confidence that many qualified Delta candidates would excel in the screening exercise and secure admission into the prestigious institution.
