The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in the council, Hon. (Elder) Godwin Ogorugba, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting programmes and policies of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
Ogorugba stated this when he received the Delta State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, and the Delta South Senatorial District Coordinator, Surv. (Chief) Peter Akarogbe, in Isoko North.
The engagement attracted political leaders, government representatives, community stakeholders, ward coordinators and residents from across the local government area.
Speaking at the gathering, Ogorugba described the meeting as an opportunity for residents to gain better understanding of government policies and programmes, while fostering constructive engagement between the people and political stakeholders.
He said his administration would continue to support initiatives focused on economic stability, infrastructure development, improved livelihoods, youth development and women empowerment.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda is centred on restoring hope and creating opportunities for Nigerians, stressing that leaders must not only formulate policies but also ensure that the people understand and participate in them.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is about giving Nigerians hope and creating opportunities for our people. As leaders, our responsibility is not only to make policies but also to ensure that our people understand those policies and are carried along in the development process.
“Government cannot achieve meaningful development alone. There must be a strong partnership between government, political leaders, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and the people,” Ogorugba said.
He urged residents of Isoko North to remain united, optimistic and actively involved in programmes designed to advance development in the council and Delta State.
The chairman also charged Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the ward and local government levels to intensify grassroots mobilisation and communication, noting that effective engagement with the people was crucial to the success of government policies.
Ogorugba further assured stakeholders of his administration’s readiness to collaborate with relevant partners in delivering tangible benefits to residents and strengthening the relationship between government and communities.
Earlier, the Delta State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, explained the objectives of the organisation and highlighted various Federal Government policies and programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Funkekeme also interacted with residents, providing explanations on government initiatives covering economic development, infrastructure, social intervention programmes and opportunities available to Nigerians.
The interactive session provided an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to ask questions and gain further insight into the direction of the Federal Government.
Among those present were the Delta South Senatorial District Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Surv. (Chief) Peter Akarogbe; Executive Director of Finance, DESOPADEC, Chief Kome Okpobor; former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade Ovuruzoye Macaulay; APC Chairman, Isoko North LGA, Comrade Omonakome Sunday; and Deputy Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Isoko North, Comrade Ovie Umouakpo.
Others included the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Beautification and President-General of Emevor, Chief Erezih Okpomo; Vice Chairman of Isoko North LGA, Barr. Evelyn Aluta; ward councillors; Renewed Hope ward coordinators; and other political leaders and stakeholders.
The meeting ended with renewed calls for unity, constructive engagement and collective responsibility in driving development across Isoko North Local Government Area.
