Staff of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, have been edged to be intentional on the choice of their pension administrators.
The Director, Admin and Human Resources, Sir Kelechi Nwelue who gave the advice during sensitization at the headquarters in Port Harcourt Rivers State, told them that they were at Liberty to change their pension Administrator if the services were not satisfactory.
According to him, every staff needs to have a pension Administrator that would be of benefit to guarantee return on investment.
Mr. Nwelue stated that management was concerned about the financial managers of staff to ensure seamless entitlement benefits at retirement.
The Director Admin and Human Resources highlighted the need to have regular update with the pension Administrator to prevent difficulties in accessing retirement entitlements.
One of the facilitators, Mr. Kingsley Dike who advised staff to do personal data recapture update, stressed the need for both name and date of birth to correspond with the entry on National Identity Number, NIN.
Mr. Dike explained that funds from personal pension plans remain tax free.
The facilitator told staff to key into personal pension plan which could enable them access to their funds to finance projects.
He maintained that it was necessary to have a simple will in place that would clear every ambiguity over next of kin benefits.
