The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots development and sustained peace across the council.
Ogorugba stated this when he received the President Generals of Owhe Kingdom, led by Israel Adaigho, at his country home in Otor-Igho, Isoko North.
The visit formed part of ongoing consultations between the council and community leaders aimed at strengthening unity, peace and collaboration for grassroots development.
Welcoming the delegation, Ogorugba expressed appreciation for the visit and described traditional institutions and community leaders as critical partners in promoting peace, security and development.
He also pledged to implement the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, across Isoko North, stressing that the council would continue to operate an open-door policy.
According to him, “We recognise Owhe Kingdom as a very important stakeholder in the development of Isoko North, and we will continue to maintain an open-door policy where the concerns of our communities can be discussed and addressed.”
Ogorugba said his administration’s vision was to build an Isoko North where communities work closely with government, youths are empowered, peace is sustained and development reaches every part of the council.
He called on the people of Owhe Kingdom to continue supporting the council’s programmes and policies, noting that meaningful development could only be achieved through collective effort.
“I sincerely appreciate the leadership of Owhe Kingdom for this visit and for the confidence you have continued to demonstrate in our administration. We recognise Owhe Kingdom as a very important stakeholder in the development of Isoko North, and we will continue to maintain an open-door policy where the concerns of our communities can be discussed and addressed.
“Our goal is to build an Isoko North where communities work together with government, where our youths are empowered, where peace is sustained and where development reaches every part of the local government. We cannot achieve this alone; we need the cooperation and support of our traditional and community leaders.
“We will continue to support initiatives that promote peace, unity and meaningful development, while working within the vision of the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. I therefore urge the people of Owhe Kingdom to continue supporting the council as we collectively work for the progress of our people.”, Ogorugba stated.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Owhe Clan President Generals Forum, Israel Adaigho, commended Ogorugba for what he described as his people-oriented leadership and visible development projects across Isoko North, particularly in Owhe Kingdom.
Adaigho pledged the continued support of Owhe Kingdom for the council’s programmes and policies.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss issues affecting the kingdom and explore ways of deepening collaboration towards lasting peace, unity and development in Isoko North.
