Edo state Government says it will continue to put in place measures to prevent the Ozone layer from depletion.

Edo state Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Mr. Nosa Adams stated this in Benin city at an event to Mark this year’s International Ozone Day.

He stressed the Edo state Government would continue to encourage sustainable cooling, and protection of the Environment, by ensuring that gas emissions responsible for global warming were also reduced.

Represented by the Permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Edith Ebowonyi, the Commissioner pledged government’s resolve to work with relevant stakeholders through training and capacity development to encourage the protection of the environment.

,”Edo state Government will not relent in capacity training and development of satehoders for a cooler and sustainable”. She said .

Edo state coordinator, National Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning practitioners, Mr.
Isaac Oseiga said the event was organized to train some of its members on how to tackle Climate change.

The event also featured a technical session where participants were taught on how to use various tools to prevent Ozone Layer depletion and the unveiling of the book Ozone Legacy in Nigeria, marking the tenth Year anniversary of the Kigali amendment written by a former National President of NARAP, Mr Ozaveshe Balogun.
