The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria CIPSMN has inducted 585 new professional members and invested three distinguished procurement professionals as Fellows of the Institute at its 2026 Badge B Induction Ceremony and Fellowship at Wuye District, Abuja.
The three-day event held from 23rd to 25th September, 2026, with mandatory professional training for the new inductees, had 585 inductees drawn from different states across Nigeria who successfully completed an intensive 18-month professional training programme.
Many of the inductees are already practitioners in their respective fields, making the induction a significant addition to Nigeria’s pool of professionally trained and certified procurement and supply management professionals.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the investiture of three distinguished professionals as Fellows; Mr Benson Abu, Mrs. Pot-Balogun Odunolamide Omowunmi, and Oluseesi Biliaminu Oluwole.
Sir Benson Abu, a longstanding member of CIPSMN who was inducted into the Institute in 2005 and has remained a Chartered member for more than two decades. His elevation to Fellowship marks a significant milestone in his professional journey and recognises his long-standing commitment to procurement practice and professional capacity development.
Mrs. Pot-Balogun Odunolamide Omowunmi is an experienced public-sector procurement professional and Chartered Member of CIPSMN. She has over 15 years of professional experience in procurement operations, with significant exposure to local government administration and Lagos State public-sector procurement. She currently serves as Head of Procurement at Amuwo-Odofin Local Government and previously served as Head of Procurement at Ejigbo Local Council Development Area and Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area.
Oluseesi Biliaminu Oluwole, also elevated to Fellowship, is an accomplished public-sector procurement professional with over 15 years of experience in procurement practice and administration. His professional experience encompasses procurement audits, procurement planning and coordination, bidding and procurement activities, contract administration, vendor management, procurement risk management and compliance.
The three new Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria would bring substantial professional experience to the Fellowship, particularly in procurement practice, public-sector operations, professional development and the application of procurement principles to institutional management.
The activities of CIPSMN are anchored on the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria’s Establishment Act, 2007; and the ceremony marks the culmination of sustained professional education, training and demonstrates the continuing growth of procurement and supply management as a specialised profession in Nigeria.
