
Rivers state government says it will support the National Youth Service Corp under the administration of retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas.
The Sole Administrator stated this today when he presided over the swearing in ceremony of 2025 Batch A Stream One Corps Members deployed to the State, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Represented by the Secretary to the Rivers State government, Professor Ibibia Worika, he urged Corps members to repay Nigerians the trust reposed in them as the successor generation to restore the country to dignity and on Nigerians to be proud of the NYSC Scheme for its achievement of integration.
“Under my watch, we will be very supportive of the NYSC especially in delivering quality and quantity of viable community development service projects across the state. I have no doubt that the scheme have brought about improvements in the nations life especially in areas of infrastructural development and cultural integration”
In his address, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe enjoined the Corps Members to make honest and patriotic sacrifices that will engender rapid economic growth and peace in the country.
Oleghe said, “I want to charge the prospective Corps Members to see their deployment to Rivers State as a veritable opportunity to contribute your own quota to the success of the youth friendly policies and programmes of the State government led by Vice Admiral Ibas retired.”
Two corps members, Loveline Uchenna and Oisebari Briget described the experience in camp so far as exciting and hope to grab at least a skill at the orientation program.
Our Correspondent reports that a total of 2018 Corps Members comprising were sworn in at the occasion by Justice. Margaret Opara who represented the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi.
