NAOWA National President Inaugurates 6 Division Chapter Complex

National President, Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, NAOWA, Mrs. Salamatu Yahaya has pledged to ensure the Welfare of the families of fallen heroes and officers of Nigerian Army in the barracks.
Mrs. Yahaya made this known while on a visit to Headquarters, Six Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, for the inauguration of NAOWA Secretariat Complex, Library, Wellness center among others.
The two days working visit to the Headquarters, Six Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, which was the first since Assuming office as the National President of Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association started with a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding Six Division Nigerian Army, Major General SANI Mohammed to solicit the support of the GOC for the Six Division Chapter of NAOWA.
That was followed by a trip to Military Hospital where Humanitarian aid was extended to the patients to enhance their psychological recovery.
In a keynote address during the inauguration of NAOWA complex Six Division Chapter, the National President, Nigerian Army Officers WIVES’ Association, Mrs. Salamatu Yahaya noted that the office complex will provide an enabling environment for smooth operations of NAOWA functions in the barracks.
According to Mrs. Yahaya, the skill acquisition center will assist the beneficiaries acquire skills that will make them self reliant, while the library will be of great benefit to the pupils of NAOWA Nursery/Primary school.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Chairperson NAOWA six Division Chapter, Mrs. Hafsat Mohammed said that the Wellness center will provide mental and psychological sanctity within the barracks community.
Mrs.Mohammed who appreciated the National President for making out time to visit the chapter for the inauguration, acknowledged that the projected was initiated by her predecessor, Mrs.Elizabeth Irefin.
While receiving NAOWA National President and her entourage in his Office, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, Six Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, MAJOR GENERAL SANI MOHAMMED Said that the Division has keyed into the programmes of Naowa and will continue to work with the association.
Major General Mohammed who promised to donate a bus to NAOWA six Division Chapter, added that plans are being made also to empower widows of fallen heroes to boost their personal enterprises.
The GOC who is also the Land Component Commander, Operation Delta Safe, stated that the Division will continue to ensure peace and security within its Area of Responsibility.
The NAOWA complex has computer Center, General purpose Hall, Reception and administrative offices.
