Elikpokwuodu CDC Chairman, Prince Sunny Opara, Donates Cows, Bags of Rice to Community.

Residents and visitors to Elikpokwuodu Community in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area Rivers State have been assured of peaceful and crime free environment this yuletide season. 

 The Community Development Committee, CDC Chairman of Elikpokwuodu community, Prince Sunny Opara who gave the assurance  while giving out bags of rice and cows to the widows and different  villages  in the community, enjoined leaders at different levels to remember the less privileged among them.

According to Price Opara, one of the cows is for Rumuegbereke Village, one for Rumuohwu Village while Rumuwedegele village gets one.

He said that because of the love he has for his community, he increased the donation from what he gave previously, promising to do more in subsequent times.

The Elikpokwuodu CDC Chairman, who said he is happy over the peace and unity in the locality, noted that crisis prevents development.

Honourable Opara Thanked the Royal highness of Rukpokwu for organizing a Thanksgiving outing yearly for the people to appreciate God for his protection and provisions and rededication of the area to God.

Reacting, the Acting Head of Elikpokwuodu Community, Chief Achinike Mmecha while appreciating the CDC chairman, described the gesture as unprecedented.

Chief Mmecha applauded Honourable Opara as a worthy ambassador who care about the welfare of the community.

The Acting Head called on the Government to fashion out measures to cushion the effects of hardship on the people

Similarly The Woman leader, Mrs. Elizabeth Worlu expressed joy for the items and prayed God’s blessings on the benefactor.

Mrs. Worlu said that Prince Opara is a worthy son who remembers the plight of the women, especially the widows.

In the same vein, the Youth president of the Elikpokwuodu, Godspower Worlu and Honourable Austin Okezie, said that the CDC has touched lives by the donation.

They acknowledged that it takes a man with heart of gold to venture into giving out to entire community, reaching out to the youths, elders and women.
