Nigerians are called to avail themselves of the provision made possible by the National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA for affordable and quality health care.
A Principal Officer of the authority, Dr. Bob-manuel Somiari made this call on our News and Current Affairs programme, Matters of the Moment.
Dr. Somiari said NHIA is saddled with the responsibility of paying for Nigerians’ health needs without going broke.
The personnel of NHIA stated that although the authority has about three hundred facilities ranging from primary to tertiary health centres, it is still working to achieve all its set goals.
Dr. Somiari explained that the health policy was changed from National Health Insurance Scheme to National Health Insurance Authority to make the policy mandatory for all Nigerians irrespective of age, religion or profession.
The medical professional stated that the government is at the root of eliminating every bottleneck bedeviling the programme, to offer a hitch free medical delivery.
