CANDIDATES OF NDDC’S FOREIGN POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP TEST EXPRESS CONFIDENCE IN THE PROCESS

Candidates of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC’s computer Based Test for foreign postgraduate scholarship have expressed confidence in the selection process.
Speaking after his exam at Rivers State University, one of the candidates, Mr. Firima Leemabari who wants to study Environmental Engineering acknowledged that he did his registration personally and was selected.
Two other candidates, Mr. Wisdom Ephraim and Miss Glory Isikima while commending NDDC for the initiative, added that the process was transparent.
Giving insight into the programme, Director Education, Health and Social Services, NDDC, Dr. George Uzonwanne explained that the aim of the scholarship scheme is to provide a veritable platform for capacity building for People of Niger Delta extraction and prepare them for the future.
Dr. Uzonwanne said that in choice of disciplines for the scholarship, consideration was focused on areas of comparative advantage in Niger Delta region, especially oil production, environmental, Geology, Tourism and emerging Artificial intelligence.
He named prerequisite for qualifications to include Admission Later from a foreign University, First degree certificate, NYSC discharge certificate, Local government identification letter among others.
On his part, the consultant, Mr. Godson Ideozu stated that technology was deployed to guarantee transparency adding that ” candidates get their scores immediately they finish their exams before leaving the hall.
About twenty thousand participants registered in the portal out of which about six thousand met the requirements and were selected for the exam.
Over two thousand five hundred persons have been beneficiaries of the foreign scholarship since its inception in twenty ten.
