PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ENGAGE IN ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE

Persons with disabilities have been urged to speak out should they encounter any form of gender violence.
Director of Faecare Foundation, Ndifreke Andrew and the Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Diabilities in Rivers State, Mr. Kie Obomanu made the call at a workshop in Port Harcourt to sensitize persons with disabilities on how to handle the matter.
Also, a Lawyer and member of the International Federation of Female Lawyers, FIDA; Mrs. Tamunoigbuemi Jim-George assured that they will do their best to restore the rights of women with disabilities.
The United Nations set aside the twenty fifth of November to the tenth of December as days of activism against gender violence on women.
