NLNG AND NDDC SIGN MoU for SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF NIGER DELTA REGION

DR. OGBUKU AND DR. MSHELBILA WITH MoU DOCUMENT

Managing Director, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas NLNG, Dr. Phillip Mshelbila says collaborating with Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, for sustainable development of Niger Delta region is a step in the right direction. 

Dr. Mshelbila who made this known during the signing of Memorandum of understanding MoU, between both parties in Port Harcourt Rivers State, noted that there was need for concerted effort towards rapid Infrastructural, economic and social development in the region. 

While acknowledging that NDDC has made remarkable impacts in the development of the region, the NLNG Managing Director maintained that the vision of the gas producing company was to build a better Nigeria. 

According to him, the vision has reflected in their contribution in education, health, infrastructure among others. 

Similarly, the Managing Director NDDC, Dr.  SAMUEL OGBUKU who identified singing MoU with Nigeria LNG as a great milestone in the quest to develop Niger Delta region, expressed confidence that the move would boost partnership with other International reputable organisations. 

Dr. Ogbuku who said that the scope of NDDC was large, including education, health, infrastructure, human development, expressed optimism that the partnership with NLNG would facilitate legacy projects in the region. 

According to him, NDDC was ready to ensure that people of Niger Delta are taken care of, to give room for peace and enabling environment for oil exploration.

The Chief Executive Officer of the interventionist Agency assured that NDDC was committed to working according to international standard. 

The MoU was the outcome of a longtime discussion between both parties.
