The Cross River State House Of Assembly has removed the Member representing Yakurr 1 State Constituency, Mr. Cyril Omini as Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
The announcement was made during plenary session by the Speaker of the House, Mr. Elvert Ayambem in Calabar.
According to him, the lawmakers removal followed allegations of gross misconduct, habitual absenteeism that has severally hindered the performance of both the Committee and the legislative arm at large.
The Speaker explained that a special investigative panel has been set up to probe the allegations.
He announced that the Member representing Akamkpa 1 State Constituency, Mr. Okon Owuna has been named the new Chairman of the Committee.
