Children’s day were marked across various local government in Akwa Ibom State.
At Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area the Chairman Mr Edidiong Inyang assured that his administration will pay critical attention to the upbringing of the children who he said are the future of the nation.

Delivering the Governor’s address the Chairman said the National Children’s Day is beyond being a yearly ritual, but rather a day to renew efforts and commitment to the welfare of our children and building a better future for them.

In pursuance of his love for Education and Akwa Ibom children, in the address, the Governor assured that soon, the construction of Model Secondary Schools equipped with world-class facilities, staff quarters, and ICT centers will be flag-off in all the 3 Senatorial Districts of the state.

The Chairman who was flanked by his wife, the First Lady of Ibesikpo Asutan, Mrs. Glory Edidiong in his goodwill message promised the commencement of an Ultra-Modern Mini Stadium before the 2026 Children’s Day Celebration.

Mr Inyang took the salute from Over 170 schools that took part in the match past amidst cheers with Secondary School, Iwawa Usung Eket emerging as the overall winner in matchpast while Fine field Montessori Nursery School took first in the Nursery school category.

At Nsit Atai Local Government Area the Children’s day was a grand affair, filled with excitement and joy. The Odot township stadium was packed with nursery, primary, and secondary school students, all participating in the festivities. The event was a nostalgic reminder of how Children’s Day was celebrated in years past.

In an address the Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Council Prince Anthony Nyong, described children as leaders of tomorrow.

The chairman emphasized his administration’s commitment to education and child protection, aligning with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda.

He urged children to speak up in cases of abuse and highlighted the office of the First Lady’s initiatives to protect children.

At Okobo Local Government Council, the Executive Chairman Mr George Henshaw felicitated with children on the occasion of this year’s children’s day celebration in Okobo Local Government.

In his address, the Chairman of Okobo Local Government, Mr George Okon Henshaw, emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment that would allow children to grow and develop to their full potential.

He called on stakeholders to join hands in promoting the welfare and development of children in the area, highlighting the need for collective efforts to ensure the well-being of children.

The 2025 Children’s Day celebration which took place at Saint Theresa’s Primary School Okopedi brought together children, parents, and stakeholders, and was attended by prominent dignitaries.

Meanwhile,The 2025 Children’s Day celebration in Uruan Local Government Area has come and gone but, the memories lives on. It was an atmosphere of jubilation when the Executive Chairman of Uruan Local Government Area, Hon.( Surv.) Iniobong Ekpenyong joined his counterparts nationwide in commemoration of 2025 Children’s Day celebration in Uruan sports stadium, ldu.

While delivering the governor’s address, the council helmsman stated that, National Children’s Day is beyond a yearly ritual but, should rather be seen as a day set aside to renew our commitment towards the welfare of our children in a bid to build a better and rewarding future for them.
