Corps Members from the 2024 Batch B Stream One who finished their Service Year today have been urged to uphold the values of the NYSC Scheme wherever they travel and to generate wealth through their efforts.
The NYSC Coordinator for Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe, delivered the charge while speaking to the graduating Corps Members at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt.
He reminded them that they are imbued with the core values of the NYSC Scheme and, as such, must be “positive impact makers” in every area of their pursuits.
Additionally, the NYSC Rivers State Team Lead urged the Corps Members not to delay and waste time hoping for “white-collar jobs,” but rather to initiate a business to generate wealth through their own efforts.
Mr. Oleghe encouraged the Corps Members to embrace creativity, diligence, discipline, focus, determination, and commitment in order to shape the future they aspire to achieve.
A total of 2302 Corps Members finished the Service Year; of these, two passed away during active duty while seventeen received service extensions.
Two were granted pardons and 23 fled. The absconders consist of 13 men and 10 women.
