
As part of efforts of the Nigerian Army leadership to show solidarity and support for frontline troops, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, organized a special luncheon to honor and boost the morale of the troops.
The historic event took was held at 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army Military Cantonment, Mbiokporo, Akwa Ibom State.
Addressing the frontline troops, the Chief of Army Staff appreciated them for their bravery, professionalism and dedication to duties.

The Chief of Army Staff, who was represented by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Gold Chibuisi, commended the troops for their unwavering dedication to duty and assured them of the continuous support of the Nigerian Army leadership.
Major General Gold Chibuisi reiterated the Chief of Army Staff’s commitment to improving operational effectiveness and boosting the morale and welfare of all personne.
Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, who was represented on the occasion by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, Brigadier General Koko Essien (Rtd), expressed gratitude to the troops for their dedication and sacrifices.

The Governor, who emphasized on the critical role the Army plays in ensuring peace and security in the State, expressed the commitment of the state government to supporting security agencies in the fight against militancy and other forms of criminality in the area.
On his part, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, said the luncheon provided an invaluable opportunity for frontline troops to engage with senior military leadership, receive encouragement, and take a well-deserved respite from their demanding duties.
Major General Eric-Emekah, who is also the Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, JTF, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, appreciated the troops for their resilience in discharging their responsibilities.

On his part, the Commander, two Brigade Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector Four of the JTF, Operation Delta Safe, Brigadier General Alexander Tawasimi, re-assured that the Nigerian Army remains committed to enhancing effectiveness and ensuring a secured environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.
The event climaxed with a group photograph with injured soldiers and heads of military as well as paramilitary agencies in the state.
