
Over four million naira has been disbursed to one thousand and seventy six beneficiaries of farm, trade, and business grants in Eket Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State as part of the ARISE empowerment scheme.
The beneficiaries include 268 for the ARISE Farmers grant, 549 for the ARISE Traders grant, 239 for the ARISE Equipment support scheme, while eighth benefited from the ₦5 million Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneur grant, and 12 benefited from cars and mini buses.

Speaking at the event which took place at the Cenotaph by Eket Township Stadium, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno explained that the empowerment is for every qualified Akwa Ibom citizens duly registered with the ARISE empowerment portal, stressing that it is not tailored to favour any political party.
While receiving the needs documents of the Federal Constituency, the Governor charged youths on hard work as well as registering on the portal to enable them access the various opportunities available in the state
“I have received the needs assessment document, we will look at it, but I am not promising you all, we will deliver based on availability of funds,” he said.

The Governor enumerated the different projects in the Federal Constituency at different stages of completing, and assured to do more for the Constituency and State in general.
Presenting the federal constituency’s needs document, Ambassador Assam Assam appreciated the Governor for delivering on his campaign promises and assured of continuous support of the people from the area.
Stakeholders of the constituency appreciated the Governor for his numerous development initiatives and strides in their respective domains, and assured of continuous support beyond 2027.
Some of the beneficiaries commended Governor Umo Eno, for his bottom-up approach which has simplified governance and making it felt mostly at the grassroots.
They said the TOWN-SQUARE meeting has brought government back to the people and giving them the opportunity to make their voices heard through the needs assessment.
