
Youths of Niger Delta region have been enjoined to believe in themselves and put their talents to work.
Director Youths, Sports, Culture and Women Affairs Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Mrs. Ahunna Imoni who gave the advice during celebration of International Youth Day in Port Harcourt Rivers State, noted that the commission has good plans for the youths in line with the President’s vision.

While encouraging the youths to leverage on tech skills and social media to market their talents, Mrs. Imoni told the youths to try their hands on novel ideas since they would have time to make amends where necessary.
She stressed on volunteering and social services as an avenue to sharpen their skills as well as open up opportunities for economic benefits.

 Similarly, the consultant, Mrs.Monte Offiong who appreciated NDDC for sponsoring the event, emphasized the importance of tech skills in the digital age.
Mrs. Offiong admonished the youths to take advantage of the ideas shared by resource persons to launch out and be self employed.
Speaking of the topic “Youths as Frontiers of Positive Change to Drive Sustainable Development of Niger Delta region”, Dr. Mrs. Edibo Hanson told the youths that they were change agents and very important in the Development of Niger Delta region.
Mrs. Hanson challenged the youths to be at the driver’s seat to bring about change in the region and nation at Large.

She insisted on mindset shift from being satisfied with happenings within ones environment to global trends.
According to the her, it was important to connect with individuals and groups with unique innovations to provide solutions to societal issues.
In their reactions some of the participants acknowledged that the programme was impactful and appreciated NDDC for the gesture.
They requested that avenues be created for youths to learn tech skills to excel in the digital age.

The youths were drawn from all the Local Government Areas in the State.
