In a bid to get ridof the growing pile of waste around the Port Harcourt metropolis, the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, has announced an environmental sanitation cleanup exercise this Saturday, 6th September, 2025.
Recall that the exercise was previously postponed from last Saturday due to the August 30 council elections.
RIWAMA Board Chairman, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, warned that owners of dirty compounds and business premises will bear the cost of cleaning if they fail to clean their surroundings.
He also stated that there will be restrictions on movement during the exercise.
