The people of Okoloba Community in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State have appealed to the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to complete the youths corps members lodge which has been abandoned since 2012, and the concrete jetty in front of the Catholic Church building, as well as repair a bore hole water tank in the community that has stopped functioning.
Chairman of the Community, Mr Kingdom Forcados who emphasised the importance of the corps members lodge, and the concrete jetty which was awarded over 12 years ago, said the completion of the projects would impact positively on the community .
Forcados said, ” We were overwhelmed and full of joy when these projects were sited at the Community, and the contractors promised quality jobs. Whatever that could have caused the delay in completing the projects, the Governor should use his good office to ensure completion of the projects”
According to him, “The corps members lodge, if completed, will enhance educational growth and development of the children because the youth corpers now have a good place to stay , without having to seek reposting from the community. Again, having corps members in the community will fill the shortage of teachers in Okoloba Secondary school”
The concrete jetty, Mr Forcados noted that being infrastructure, it is key to economic growth and development, while the the bore hole if repaired by the government, would prevent the residents from contacting water borne related diseases.
The Okoloba Community Chairman , passionately pleaded with the Listening Governor which words have become Bond to intervene on behalf of the Community to ask the relevant Government authorities and the Contractors to complete the projects, saying “every Government intended project has great and meaningful Service and purpose to fulfill”.
Mr Forcados thanked the Governor for opening up the rural areas of the state by siting critical people oriented projects .
He also used the opportunity to thanked his predecessor , Chief Clement Koki for his wisdom and great leadership styles
with his executives, and encouraged sons and daughters of the community to be concerned about the community development and growth , and imbibe the spirit of oneness, peace, harmony, love and unity anywhere they are.
