The Rivers State Government says the remaining part of comprehensive renovation of the State’s NYSC orientation camp will be completed soon alongside other projects.


Governor Siminalayi Fubara who gave the assurance during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch A Stream One camp at Nonwa-Gbam, in Tai Local Government Area said his administration will be unrelenting in providing corps members with topnotch welfare and security.


The governor, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Samson Dede enjoined the Corps Members to serve selflessly in their Places of Primary Assignment.


He urged them to be “exemplary, honest, committed, and dedicated in all that they do, and to be good ambassadors of the NYSC Scheme.”


In his address, the Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, urged Corps Members to shine as light and dispel tribalism, hate speech and corruption.


He further appealed to Corps Employers to provide Corps Members with a conducive environment to thrive while appreciating governor Siminalayi Fubara for his massive support to NYSC in the State.


He advised them to “make a difference in the service year by contributing selflessly to the lives of others, especially members of their host community.”

Corps Members, Ono Precious and Victor Ezeji said they have been equipped with skills and good morals and were ready to impact communities in Rivers State.
