
Communities along Ehime- Nguru-Aba Branch Ekwereazu Road, in Imo State have heaved a sigh of relief over Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC’s Intervention on the Road.
Speaking on behalf of Igwe in Council, Ahiazu Mbaise and Ehime Mbano communities, during inspection of Twenty one Kilometers Ahiazu Mbaise Section of the Road, the Traditional Ruler of Ihiteaforukwu Kingdom, Eze Nwandu who was impressed with NDDC intervention in the road, noted that for over fifteen years, that stretch of the Road that cut across four Local Government Area s in Imo State, remained inaccessible.
In the same vein, Youth president of Eziala-Owerri Izike, in Ehime Mbano, Comrade Johnbosco Chinedu who admitted that the Road was in a very poor state forcing residents to take a longer route to access urban areas, appreciated NDDC for construction of the road.
Addressing the people, Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku maintained that the commission would continue to fund projects to facilitate speedy completion.
Dr. Ogbuku was emphatic of the determination of present management to complete all projects embarked upon within their tenure.
The respondents expressed optimism that the road that linked up Imo, Abia and Rivers State would enhance economic and social activities in the locality.
